Goodbye to Love


When you find love it is wonderful
What joy shall fill your heart
You are consumed with the feeling
And wish it will never depart
 
Your days are filled with sweet songs
At night you sleep with a smile
Your head is soaring in the clouds
All problems have been reconciled
 
But remember who loved you first
Looking down on us in grace
Paying the ultimate price to save us
So we can feel His embrace
 
I should trust in You with all my heart
Lean not on what I know
Seek Your will in all I do
And which path to take You will show
 
Don’t be impressed with my own wisdom
But fear the Lord and reject sin
Then You will heal all my afflictions
And strengthen me from within
 
Yet I cannot seem to let this go
It is just too bittersweet
I cling on to such little hope
That makes me feel so complete
 
Please take back the request, 
     let me not drink this cup
Don’t let me suffer in vain
You said You will grant the desires of my heart
So let this one thing remain
 
Yet not my will, but Your will be done
To You I will surrender
I may not understand it now
But You always know what’s better
 
Hold me close, do not let go
The pain is just too much
The tears keep falling down and down
I need to feel Your touch
 
I will trust in You with all my heart
And lean not on what I know 
I will seek Your will in all I do
And follow the path that You show

More Than Conquerers
