Wandering the Wilderness

Inspired by Exodus 15:22 to 17:16 When we are facing adversity  We forget our divine paternity  Even after God displays His power And how He shone in our darkest hour Seeking self comfort and security  When it is only in Him we are free  He alone our strength and our shield  It is His glory that we do wield  We are the manifestation of His love And onto others are we to share of Be careful of getting bitter and complain  Cause we can neglect the holy campaign Don’t look to others for provision  God should be our firm foundation  Your faith in Him should be maintained  As we wait for our inheritance to claim

A Song of Deliverance

Based on Exodus 15:1-18 & Psalm 136:13 I will sing to the Lord for His triumph and His glory He has hurled both horse and rider into the Red Sea The Lord is my strength He has given me victory The Lord has drowned Pharaoh's chariots and his army O Lord, in glorious power You smashed the enemy As You displayed the greatness of Your majesty Against the opposition You unleashed Your fury For Your grace and love we do adore Thee At the blast of Your breath the waters piled up Standing like a wall did the waters line up The wind blew all night so the seabed dried up As they gave chase the enemy was covered up O Lord our God You are awesome in splendor Who is like You performing great wonders? With Your unfailing love do You take the lead Your holy people have You redeemed We hear Your voice and then tremble As Your glory we try to resemble Praise Him who divided the Red Sea asunder As He reigns forever and ever

Delivered from Bondage

In this life there will be opposition Something that will prevent complete submission To the Lord in glory and honor As we should acknowledge His grace and His splendor But there are those who don't know the Lord And do not fear His frightful sword So they protest against worshipping Him Being content to just stay in sin Making excuses and say we are lazy Getting harsher and harsher and making us crazy But God will redeem us with a powerful arm Delivering us from tyranny and those who mean harm Do not think that God is feeble And think His wonders are to be ignored We are supposed to be His people And He is supposed to be our Lord God will raise His mighty hand Then non-believers will understand That He alone is the Lord Saving us with but a word They may ask to be shown a miracle Not caring if they are being difficult Because their hearts are so stubborn To the Lord they refuse to sojourn  Being satisfied with counterfeits  Refusing to concede that God’s glory exists  Ob...

The Burning Bush

A time will come when blessings are forgotten  Peaceful allegiances become downtrodden Where once we were free but now in slavery Crying out in distress to God for delivery Oftentimes we bring justice into our own hands Impatient with God and with His timing withstand But the ends will never justify the means People will always have their sinful schemes Yet no matter how messy the situation God has a way towards restoration You may be lost but in Him can be found He will call you into holy ground So take off your sandals and bow low A special calling will He bestow Do not hesitate and do not protest Answer His call at His behest He will use you to do signs and wonders Bringing rain and trembling thunder He is the God of Israel, the Great I Am The God of Jacob, Isaac, and of Abraham

Galatians

The gospel message  Is not based on human reasoning  Instead it is based on direct revelation  Not religious devotion b ut holy communion A union between God and man A righteous salvation plan Started even before life began  So we can live in the promised land God is the same God of the apostles  As He is the same God of us A person is made right with God by faith  Not by obeying the law in confidence  Our old selves have been crucified with Christ  We no longer live but Christ lives in us Trusting His grace will only suffice  Not treating His grace as meaningless  By faith are we all children of Abraham  As Christ became the sacrificial lamb Breaking the curse of the law Receiving freedom from the cross  Don't be slaves again of useless principles Lacking faith in the God of miracles Like Abraham’s firstborn from a slave woman  Not trusting God would fulfill the promised son We are like Isaac born from the freeborn wife B...

A Call to Persevere

Based on Hebrews 10:19-25 Dear friends, Let us come to the Holy Place  Wrap ourselves in Holy Grace The Son has paid the ultimate price  He became the pure sacrifice  Come with faith from the inside out Lift up praises! Cry and shout! Uphold our confessions of our hope Recall promises that He spoke Encourage each other in love and deed Keep meeting together as we agreed We have the truth so don’t keep sinning  He is not always so forgiving  Yes there will be suffering  But there’s also recovering  And to us faith is reminding  That better things are awaiting

Joseph

Jacob loved Joseph more than his other sons  So Joseph’s brothers thought of him as a villain  Hating Joseph’s gifted robe so beautiful And thinking his dreams unacceptable   Just as Jacob used goats to deceive Isaac  A goat was used to have Jacob tricked   But Joseph was sold for twenty pieces of silver  Eventually to Egypt was he delivered  Joseph became a slave to Potiphar  Who was the captain of Pharaoh’s guards The Lord was with Joseph so he succeeded  But seduced by the wife, Joseph resisted Potiphar’s wife lied about Joseph’s intent So into prison was Joseph sent Having the ability to interpret dreams  Joseph had a way to be redeemed   Interpreting the dreams of Pharaoh’s prisoners  Joseph proved that he was God’s listener The cup-bearer later remembered Joseph’s ability  So Joseph could be brought out of captivity  Joseph interpreted what God would be doing   Advising the pharaoh food should be accruing...

Lineage of Deception

Just like Sarah, Rebekah was also barren But after Isaac pleaded, God had compassion  She became pregnant and gave birth to twins  So between them a new rivalry begins  Esau became a very skilled hunter  While Jacob stayed home in awe and wonder For 15 years he must’ve learned from Abraham  Learning all about God, the great I AM Esau showed contempt for his heritage  Not caring about blessings from his parentage  Selling his birthright for a bowl of red stew Not knowing what he would suffer through  Then Isaac deceived a king like his father  Saying that Rebekah was just his sister  But the king found out then made an alliance  They would not interfere and stay in compliance Later on Jacob received Esau’s blessing Confirming the land he would be possessing  Tricking his father after feeding him meat Continuing the ways of practicing deceit  Using the excuse of not marrying a foreigner  Jacob then went to his mom’s bro...

The Call of Abram

Abram was promised he'd be a great nation God blessing him through all generations He would be protected and richly rewarded As the father of faith would he be recorded  Abram’s descendants would inherit the land It would start with his son as God planned Even though it'd take 400 years till fulfillment  God vowed to complete His solemn commitment Then God changed his name to "Father of many" Promising him his descendants will be plenty But he and his wife were very matured Laughing to themselves when a son was ensured When Isaac was born Sarah still laughed But it was out of joy as many years passed At an advanced age s he was able to nurse God had healed her of childbearing hurt Some time later a sacrifice was asked for  Testing Abraham to see who he loved more  Still he placed Isaac upon the altar  Abraham’s faith had never faltered  God had greatly blessed Abraham’s house  Then a task was made to find Isaac a spouse Upon Rebekah did the Lord have f...

Noah

After Adam and Eve the world's population grew Yet further from God did they withdrew Every thought or imagination was totally evil Making God do something extremely lethal But God saw that Noah was blameless Walking in close fellowship with His Greatness So God instructed Noah to build an ark As the flood was coming and he'd have to embark Soon the waters rose and God declared His judgment But God remembered Noah and made a covenant No longer will He completely destroy His creation A commitment He made for endless generations Afterwards, however, Noah made a mistake As he got drunk and fell from God's grace Like Adam and Eve he was naked and ashamed And from his youngest son, he was betrayed Since Adam and Eve wickedness existed Throughout generations has it persisted But like Noah, God remembers us too He will always redeem us and make us anew

Salvation from the Start

In the beginning, God breathed all of creation into birth As He created the heavens and the earth Then to the east He planted a garden And told man every fruit could be eaten But there was one tree that was forbidden Since it would bring death as the reason Yet there was a serpent against God's ways And schemed to leave people in a daze Making the humans disobey God's warning Making them feel shame and go into mourning Their sin brought them dishonor Since they felt His favor no longer God prevents us from feeling disgrace As we feel His love in its place Intimacy keeps us in admiration Breaking it leaves us in humiliation Exposing our nakedness and shame 'Cause trying to be like Him was the aim That is why the woman was named Eve As she would the one who would conceive Then from Eden did God banish them That is how mankind was condemned Between God and us is a separation But God planned a way for salvation Even though stillness with Him was severed He still wants us to liv...

The Book of Joel

Look out and beware  Locusts are swarming everywhere  Like an invading army They came and ate up all the barley  Weep and mourn For there is no grain or wine Dress in burlap and forlorn  There is no offering at the shrine The day of the LORD is near A day of destruction so severe  Of darkness and of gloom  An army appears bringing doom Faces grow pale with terror  The attackers march forth like warriors  Moving exactly in the right position  The LORD Himself is at the head of the column Say to the nations, far and wide Your armies and the LORD’s will collide  We will meet at the Valley of Decision  His mighty judgment will come from Zion Yet the LORD is a refuge for His people  A strong fortress as the God of Israel HE will return to us what was lost Everything taken by the locusts  Pouring out His Spirit to His servants  Causing signs and wonders to the observant Then you will know that the LORD is your God Together ...
