Psalm 68

Sing praises to God As the wicked perish in His presence  Sing praises to God As the godly enjoy His closeness  Sing loud praises to Him  Who rides upon the clouds  Sing loud praises to Him  Rejoice as He surrounds       Father to the fatherless       Defender of the widowed       Comfort in the loneliness       Repayment for debt owed      Leading Your people out of slavery      Marching through dry wasteland       Making Your people full of bravery       Abundant rain at Your command  Praise the Lord  Praise God our savior  Our God is a God who saves  Praise the Lord  Praise God, life-giver Rescuing us from our graves  Sing to the One Riding across ancient heavens  Sing to the One Whose voice thunders in the horizon  Tell everyone about His power  Majesty upon His nati...

Fishing Epilogue

Inspired by John 21 Jesus began his ministry       in the region of Galilee  And it was right in the sea       that disciples fished bitterly  They fished all night but did not catch anything  The fish wouldn’t bite as they were unfeeling  Then Jesus instructed them and they listened  He had inducted them into their  commission  The net couldn’t contain all that were caught  As fish couldn’t remain in their comfortable spot Come and find breakfast is waiting  Be inclined to the food he was cooking  Are you ready for the questions he will ask Can you carry the burdens that he tasks  Do you love him more than anything  Or will you shun him to be self-seeking  If you choose love feed his lambs and sheep  Be graceful like a dove and gather what you reap Don’t go around as lazy, illiterate men Stay in His Spirit daily and be fishers of men Companion  poem

The Teacher Has Risen

Inspired by John 20 Come and see the high contrast  They’ve taken the body mass See the linen lying there Of this you will want to share Do you recognize the Teacher  Go and tell all his brothers  He ascends to our God Do not have to stay on guard  “Peace be with you”  as he visits  He will send the Holy Spirit Love and grace without limit  Holiness we now inherit  Don’t be faithless any longer  Embrace this divine encounter  It is wickedness he has conquered  Making hearts and minds much stronger

Smoothened Rock

Based on Revelations 3:7-12 Once upon a time there was a rock Jagged with no clear edges  Assigned to guard the city gate lock Determining who progresses  It had jostled around in its post Shoved and pushed against the others  It persevered against the revolt While barely able to recover The king noticed its weaknesses  But also acknowledged its obedience  Said liars yield to its buttresses  While it is loved for its abidance The others would be tested soon  Deciphering who should or shouldn’t stay  The rock now smooth and attuned  Seasoned enough to know the Way What it went through was very painful  However it never became ungrateful  To the blessed king it remained faithful  Once jagged but now named graceful  Mostly inspired by Andrew Walker’s  message  (from 1:15:31 to 1:45:00)

Gabbatha & Golgotha

Inspired by John 19 Who do you declare as your king Whose judgment do you concede to  Does this lord have fair rulings  And whose verdict can be appealed to  What if someone was found not guilty  Going against the choice of the city Even if their hearts were all filthy  Their spirits unwell and unhealthy  When the judge sits on the judgment seat  Is not their verdict final and complete? Even if they want the accused released  Mercy and compassion faced their defeat  The king of the Jews must be neutralized  Daring to offend religious leaders  Destined to surrender and be crucified  Saving the souls of his believers  The divine plan has been finished  The separation has been bridged Evil’s power has been diminished  Union with God now encouraged

John 18

We came from the garden where sin began  And with the serpent came the fall of man From an olive tree grove a snare was laid It was there the Son of Man was betrayed  “Who are you looking for?” It was asked  “Jesus the Nazarene” and the enemy attacked  Jesus spoke  “ I AM he”  making them gasp Guardedly was the teacher caught and clasped  “Everyone knows what I have been teaching  Ask those who heard me what I had been speaking  If I said anything wrong then you must prove it  But if I’m speaking the truth then do not abuse it” However the accusers had no validation  They still took Jesus forward to prosecution  Needing to justify their conceited collusion  And to push ahead the desired execution  Pilate asked if he was the king of the Jews  And then asked later “What is the truth?” God and sin are not compatible  Remember His kingdom is imperceptible  Also inspired by Matthew Henry’s  Commentary

A John 17 Inspired Prayer

Glorify the son  as he gives glory back to You To gain eternal life  is to comprehend and value You The Son had returned      to the glory he shared           before the world began He revealed the Father      to those who belonged            and follow His commands  We were always the Father’s      given to the son            and kept His word  Accepting the message       knowing a nd believing            what we had heard  We wait in this world  as the son departed       coming back to You  Protect us Lord  by Your name’s power       unifying us anew  The world hates us  as they hated the son      because we don’t pertain  Make us holy  teaching us Your word      so that in You we...

Suffering to Joy

Inspired by John 16:5-24 A woman suffers when giving birth  As new life enters this fragile earth  Then the pains of labor are soon forgotten  As the mother sees her baby untrodden  The world may rejoice while we grieve  As the teacher suffers from disbelief  Not knowing that freedom would be achieved  With grace and ample joy being received God is coming to judge and convict Which side will you be in the conflict  The teacher will leave but we are equipped  An Advocate comes righteously to assist

A Branch of the Vine

Inspired by John 15 & Romans 1:21-25 The world will hate you  If you follow the way The world will negate you  If you don’t believe what they say  They enjoy the dark and confusion  Claiming to be wise but are utter fools  Unsatisfied and disillusioned  Deciding it’s better to make up the rules  Yet the world doesn’t choose us God does to produce good fruit  Doing whatever we ask through Jesus  As long as we’re attached to the root  He is the vine, we are the branches  If we remain in him we are disciples So do not wither and made into ashes  Bear good fruit and bring forth revival  Lets obey his commands and remain in his love He told us these things to be filled with his joy Lets cherish each other like he does from above  Producing good work  under his employ

Advocating

Inspired by John 14 Do not let your hearts be troubled  Just trust in the Holy Trinity  Living does not have to be a struggle  Just believe in God and give Him glory  God will always advocate for us Not abandon us to be orphans  The Father, Spirit, and Jesus  Will always bless us with fortunes  Preparing a place in the heavenly realm  Not leaving us guilty and condemned  It will be our spirits being overwhelmed  Can you now see and comprehend? He is the way the truth and passion  No one comes to the Father without him Making us be full of satisfaction  Because we are now free from sin The Holy Spirit leads into all truth Teaching and reminding us of everything  So to whom or what will you choose  A sacred gift, or to become self-seeking?

From Contamination to Purified

Inspired by John 13:1-17 To live is to become contaminated  Infected by filthy viruses  Therefore we must get vaccinated  From he who performs miracles  He stoops low to wash our feet  His sovereignty he kept discreet  Uncleanliness he will defeat  To make our souls become complete  Unto other’s feet we should wash Being humble with our pride squashed Since unbelief makes our hearts harsh Don’t you want to be part of his entourage? To be with him is to be sanctified  Making our lives become justified  From contamination to purified  God’s holy wrath now satisfied  Don’t keep this good news to yourself  To the world may you be compelled  Sharing how to obtain abundant wealth  And to be able to have eternal health  Also inspired by Matthew Henry’s  Commentary

Anointing Before Death

Inspired by John 12:1-11 Before the celebration is the appointing  The filling of a basin for the anointing  A pleasing aroma for those around  Unlike Jonah when he almost drowned  We can try and run from God’s commands Turn away and flee from what He planned  Because we don’t agree with His compassion  Having cold hearts and a negative reaction  So like Jonah, Judas also had contempt  The welfare of others he would exempt  Despite witnessing God’s grace and mercy There were people he deemed unworthy  We will always have the poor among us  Doesn’t excuse our mood and smugness  How we spend our time is important  Don’t be deceived by the wicked serpent  So pour the perfume and prepare the body The time is coming when it’ll be buried  Crushed by the weight of disobedience  It is for us that he intermediates  And like Lazarus we can be raised  From the curse of death can we be saved  Free from ph...

See God’s Glory

Inspired by John 11:1-44 What do you believe? That there is a final breath  That we will lose our strength  That there is a limit to health That everything ends in death But can death lead to glory  Revealing something pure and holy That all the stress and anxiety  Can be the very things we bury In darkness there is danger  Wickedness of strangers  But the light of the world       is a good and loving savior  Humanity is in trouble deep For we have fallen asleep  From our graves we wail and weep  Because it’s life we wish to keep  Living doesn’t have to mean infection  He said he is the life and resurrection  As death can bring our redemption  From the grave to heavenly ascension  Cast the stone aside from the entrance  Lay your burdens down in repentance  As we declare our independence  From physical limits to transcendence

Know the Voice

Inspired by John 10 Beware of thieves and robbers  Who do not come through the front door  But know the voice of honor  Who leads you to good pastures  A hired hand will run      when confronted by grave danger  But the good shepherd sacrifices his life       so the sheep prospers He sacrifices his life  to take it back again  He does this voluntarily  to save us all from sin “My sheep know my voice  and they follow me  They sing songs and rejoice  following jubilantly  “I give them all eternal life       and they will never perish  Seeing me through holy eyes       and know that they are cherished” It is written that we are children       of the Sovereign Most High  The good shepherd is the Son of God      and through him will we abide So let us all, by free choice, pledge our loyalty  Choosing to know h...

Spiritual Blindness

Inspired by John 9 “Who has healed you? You who were blind since birth  Is it one we’ve deemed To be of unholy worth “Our steadfast laws m ust be obeyed Our sacredness must be displayed  This is what we want portrayed  Our unholy masquerade  “Because we deem what is right and wrong  We determine what does belong  We don’t care that our relationship  With the Creator has been withdrawn” Do you believe in the Son of Man? Do you believe in the redemption plan? Do you believe he heals with holy hands? The One from heaven, the great I AM  He entered the world to render judgment  To heal the blind and fulfill the covenant  It’s the guilty he finds repugnant  To the indifferent he brings adjustment Who is the one that can heal you? You who lives in the darkness  You can now be brought to the light  If you believe in Lord Jesus

No Longer Slaves

Inspired by John 8 People can accuse you maliciously  Demanding you stay in captivity  But let the sinless throw the first stone  However Jesus, himself, will atone The light of the world       shines through the darkness  He has seen and has heard       what has come from the heartless Don’t listen to all the rumors       Don’t put your trust in them Where are all your accusers?      Who is left to condemn? We all may die with our regrets  With all our grief and unpaid debts  But the Son of Man is our defense  Setting us free from our distress  We can be slaves to our selfish greed  To its immoral wants and its needs  But from depravity we can be freed  If faith in HIM we can concede Don’t be shackled to the enemy  Don’t believe in all the treachery  To the Word of God listen graciously  And be immersed in all HIS glory!
