Purity & the Nazirite Vow
Inspired by Matthew Henry’s commentary on Numbers chapters 5 and 6
Wisdom from above arrives as pure
So removing the polluted must be assured
To make sure the encampment is secured
So His holy love continues to endure
If the people’s faith is their stability
They need to avoid their own iniquity
Trespassing each other is a liability
For it keeps us away from His affinity
Do not meddle in forbidden pleasures
The consequences have bitter measures
For God sees all our hidden treasures
And we’ll be accountable for lustful errors
Will you take the Nazarite vow of separation?
Detach from the world to show God full devotion
No pleasing the body as it’s under obligation
So you can encounter His more intimate affection
To the Lord may your sins be confessed to
So the Lord may protect and bless you
May the Lord smile down and be gracious
Because His mercy makes Him forgive us
May He show you his favor and give you his peace
Forever and ever as pure love never ceases
