God of Jacob

inspired by Psalm 24

People may lack faith in this generation
Leaders get discouraged from their congregation
Everyone's souls soon become restless
We see ourselves spiritually diminish

We cry out "We demand satisfaction!"
Only we go towards the wrong direction
We seek pleasure from the things of this world
Putting our souls in constant turmoil

Yet we get an epiphany
Reaching a point where we finally see
There's no satisfaction with a life of sin
A brand new life we must begin

Our problems need to be confronted
Otherwise our growth will be stunted
We cannot avoid them, make them go away
Our problems are always here to stay

So what do we do?

We come before the God of Jacob
We come before the Prince of Peace
We come before our Heavenly Father
Only then will striving cease

Who then is this God of Jacob
Is He really that holy and sacred
Can He end all of my problems
Is there such a thing as salvation?

Well, yes and no to all your questions
You will be free from condemnation
You won't have to search for fulfillment
You just have to be repentant

Jacob was a well-chronicled liar
In a situation that was most dire
All night long he wrestled with a man
It ended when he submitted to God's holy plan

Submission to His will is what God seeks
That is why He blesses the meek
It's not the weak that'll inherit the earth
But those who have gone through a second-birth

Everyone who has...

Come before the God of Jacob
Received supernatural peace
Embraced the arms of their Heavenly Father
Whose pain and torment have been released
