Prayer for Redemption

Come down, oh LORD, and descend
Make the earth tremble as You transcend
As You burn everything to their roots
Make the nations shake in their boots

You did terrible things unexpected
Made mountains shudder at Your Presence
Since before time even began
Beyond the imagination of man

No ear has heard, no eye has seen
For respecters of Him, He intervenes
Welcoming those who gladly do good
But angry with those who with evil stood

We are all infected and impure
Our best efforts are like manure
Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall
Our misdeeds make us become so small

And yet, oh LORD, You are our Father
We are the clay and You are the Potter
Please don’t continue Your holy anger
Please don’t remember our sins forever
