Renewing the Covenant

Inspired by Exodus chapters 32-34

Oftentimes we can get impatient 
Leading us to be complacent 
Looking for God’s replacement 
Enthralled into sin’s engagement 

Making God burn with anger
Threatening to bring disaster 
As sin spreads just like cancer
While we’re ignorant of the danger 

Desperately needing intervention 
Begging God for restoration 
Hoping for some intercession 
We really need His salvation 

It is His presence that sets us apart 
Refining our minds and our hearts
He has loved us from the start
A glorious, beautiful work of art

So let us renew our covenant  
Everyone come into agreement 
That God alone will be prominent 
And His Grace will be sufficient

The Purification Water

Inspired by Numbers chapter 19 & Matthew Henry’s  Commentary “COME AND BRING OUT A RED HEIFER  A PERFECT ANIMAL WITHOUT DEFECT THE SINS OF THE PEOPLE IT SHALL ACQUIRE  BURN IT TO ASHES FOR FULL EFFECT  “THE SUFFERING THROUGH FIRE IS A SACRIFICE TO SATISFY MY JUSTICE FOR DISOBEDIENCE  THIS IS THE ULTIMATE COST AND PRICE  BETWEEN OURSELVES TO INTERMEDIATE  “THE BUTCHER AND INFLAMER WILL BE UNCLEAN AS WELL AS THE ONE WHO PICKS UP THE ASHES  SO THEY MUST WASH THEMSELVES PRISTINE  SO THE PEOPLE ARE NO LONGER FRACTIOUS  “A CONSEQUENCE OF SIN IS DEATH SO TOUCHING A CORPSE IS DEFILING  THE LAW CANNOT BRING BACK YOUR HEALTH  SO NEW LIFE AND HOPE I WAS COMPILING  “MIX THE ASHES WITH FRESH WATER THIS MIXTURE IS YOUR PURIFICATION  THIS WILL ATONE FOR SIN’S SLAUGHTER  A SYMBOL OF OUR SACRED RELATION”

More Than Conquerers
