The Tabernacle
Inspired by Exodus chapters 25-31
God told Moses to build a sanctuary
As the tabernacle was formless and empty
The people were to provide sacred donations
For God Himself to live amongst them
Then God said to make an ark
Overlay it in gold did He impart
With two cherubim on the cover
So between them He would hover
Then God instructed Moses to make a table
Showing how He would provide our essentials
Along with special containers to be made
And the Bread must be continually displayed
Then God said to symbolize His light
Portraying the Trinity with a lampstand in sight
Made from gold following His directions
With seven lamps to represent perfection
To exemplify His Presence so magical
God said to make Him a tabernacle
Our sins would be placed upon an altar
To be forgiven and eventually conquered
To light the lamps oil is necessary
And the fire had to burn continually
Just as His Presence is always around
Our hearts and His should always abound
Like the priests we are to be set apart
Listening to Him as His wisdom imparts
Like sacred garments we're to be suitable
Before God and made to be beautiful
Then to God we must be dedicated
Made pure by sin being eliminated
Then He will redeem and consecrate us
So we are made holy just like our Lord Jesus
May our prayers set before God
All together may they fragrantly bond
Done everyday and not be unholy
As we worship Him most preciously
And as God's people are registered in heaven
Each person pays a tax for reconciliation
As we are to present ourselves as sanctified
Symbolically baptizing ourselves to be purified
Then get anointed from a special blend
From our mortal bodies do we transcend
Like flagrant incense may our prayers ascend
And always on Him may our lives depend
Then God will bless us with certain expertise
With great ability are we His appointees
Filled with His Spirit and specifically chosen
As long as we offer our hearts in devotion
Just as God rested from His work of creation
The Sabbath day is to be observed each generation
A sign between us and His covenant relation
Coming from bondage to our liberation
