Fishing

In the land of Zebulun and of Naphtali
Beyond the Jordan River beside the sea
Where so many Gentiles live 
     in the region of Galilee
The Spirit of the Lord was upon Him 
     to set the oppressed free

The people who sat in darkness 
     have seen a great light
Shining into the shadow 
     of death's cursed blight
Jesus began to preach 
     that God's Kingdom is in sight
Saying "Come, follow me" 
     and to souls did it excite

Evil spirits cried out,
    "Have You come to destroy us?"
"We know who you are, 
     Son of God, Lord Jesus!"
But cutting them short 
     He commanded them "Depart!"
And they obeyed so His fame got its start

Great crowds listened in
     as He preached along the shore
He then instructed fishermen 
     where to catch a big score
Simon, James, and John obeyed 
     and caught fishes galore
Then they left everything 
     to follow Jesus their Lord

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a fishing net
Catching every fish that it could possibly get
Dragging it up onto the water's side
Which fish to keep would angels decide

The wicked and righteous will be separated
To which side do you participate in
Will you burn and then be devastated
Or will you be holy and be elevated?

The Purification Water

Inspired by Numbers chapter 19 & Matthew Henry’s  Commentary “COME AND BRING OUT A RED HEIFER  A PERFECT ANIMAL WITHOUT DEFECT THE SINS OF THE PEOPLE IT SHALL ACQUIRE  BURN IT TO ASHES FOR FULL EFFECT  “THE SUFFERING THROUGH FIRE IS A SACRIFICE TO SATISFY MY JUSTICE FOR DISOBEDIENCE  THIS IS THE ULTIMATE COST AND PRICE  BETWEEN OURSELVES TO INTERMEDIATE  “THE BUTCHER AND INFLAMER WILL BE UNCLEAN AS WELL AS THE ONE WHO PICKS UP THE ASHES  SO THEY MUST WASH THEMSELVES PRISTINE  SO THE PEOPLE ARE NO LONGER FRACTIOUS  “A CONSEQUENCE OF SIN IS DEATH SO TOUCHING A CORPSE IS DEFILING  THE LAW CANNOT BRING BACK YOUR HEALTH  SO NEW LIFE AND HOPE I WAS COMPILING  “MIX THE ASHES WITH FRESH WATER THIS MIXTURE IS YOUR PURIFICATION  THIS WILL ATONE FOR SIN’S SLAUGHTER  A SYMBOL OF OUR SACRED RELATION”

More Than Conquerers
