My Beloved

I wish I could be more eloquent
and share how much I love you
You come across so elegant
making my heart beat anew

My life seemed so meaningless
before you entered in
Like love didn't even begin yet
but now in full bloom since

I could speak God's Word with power
reveal all of His mysteries
I could face mountains and declare
that I have multiple victories

All my money I could transfer
Be burned at the stake as a martyr
But I would've gotten nowhere
If love wasn't at the center

Love is patient, love is kind
Others' needs does it provide
Keeps no record of being wronged
In divine truth does it belong
Never gives up, never loses faith
Enduring until the end of days

Love will always last forever
While insight will become useless
We will always have an incomplete picture
How things work makes us clueless

We see things imperfectly
as if in a cloudy mirror
But the light will shine distinctly
perceiving things more clearer

Three things should we live primarily
Trust in the Living God steadily
Hope in Him unswervingly
Through Him love extravagantly

These three things fit like a glove
But between the three the greatest is love
To my beloved I do adore you
No one else will come before you

I want to thank you for being in my life
You have been a major blessing
I now see things through a new set of eyes
and my soul received a refreshing
