My History With God

I remember when I first encountered God
His glorious Presence leaving me in awe

He was pleased with my adoration
Expanding the horizons of my imagination 
I then offered my complete devotion 
As He changed my identification 

Now recognized as God’s precious child 
As the world sees someone to be reviled 
In opposition with non-believers 
Who themselves are self-promoting achievers

Seeking to feel His Presence instead 
Looking forward to what’s planned ahead
Longing for His sweet embrace 
As He erased all of my past mistakes

I did try to accomplish things on my own
Show people that I can be left alone 
Thinking that I was strong enough 
Underrating how life would be rough 

Constantly in need to be broken 
Forgetting the words He had spoken 
How He would do the work not me
How all I needed to do was believe 

He is the One who saved my soul
Sought my heart to make me whole
So His love I can know 
And fulfill my holy role

Remember what He has done for you
How He was always in pursuit 
No matter how far you run away 
He wants you in His love to stay

There is nothing on earth greater than Him
And true life can only be found within 
Don’t be so attached to this temporary world
And consider where your love is deserved

If evil exists so does goodness 
Love personified in pureness 
Prosperity lived in true fullness 
Fear removed replaced with secureness

Inspired by Numbers chapter 19 & Matthew Henry’s  Commentary “COME AND BRING OUT A RED HEIFER  A PERFECT ANIMAL WITHOUT DEFECT THE SINS OF THE PEOPLE IT SHALL ACQUIRE  BURN IT TO ASHES FOR FULL EFFECT  “THE SUFFERING THROUGH FIRE IS A SACRIFICE TO SATISFY MY JUSTICE FOR DISOBEDIENCE  THIS IS THE ULTIMATE COST AND PRICE  BETWEEN OURSELVES TO INTERMEDIATE  “THE BUTCHER AND INFLAMER WILL BE UNCLEAN AS WELL AS THE ONE WHO PICKS UP THE ASHES  SO THEY MUST WASH THEMSELVES PRISTINE  SO THE PEOPLE ARE NO LONGER FRACTIOUS  “A CONSEQUENCE OF SIN IS DEATH SO TOUCHING A CORPSE IS DEFILING  THE LAW CANNOT BRING BACK YOUR HEALTH  SO NEW LIFE AND HOPE I WAS COMPILING  “MIX THE ASHES WITH FRESH WATER THIS MIXTURE IS YOUR PURIFICATION  THIS WILL ATONE FOR SIN’S SLAUGHTER  A SYMBOL OF OUR SACRED RELATION”

More Than Conquerers
