Hypocrisy and Lawlessness

Inspired by Matthew chapter 23

Hear ye, hear ye

Court is now in session

The plaintiff speaks against the accused 

Of hypocritical oppression

"Beware of influencers

Who like to guide and teach

Telling you how to think and act

But do not practice what they preach

"Everything they do is for show

To receive respect from others

Sitting at the head of the table

And to be given praise and honor

"They think they're better than common folk

And loved to be called their master

But the least shall be made the greatest

While braggards head for disaster

"What sorrow awaits those who exalts themselves

For one day you will be humbled

And for those who have humbled themselves

Your lives will be untroubled

"Hypocrites! You who carefully clean the outside

Yet the inside of the cup is filthy

First wash the inside of the cup and dish

Then the outside will be exemplary

"Hypocrites! You who are like whitewashed tombs

Beautiful on the outside and elegant

But filled with dead people's bones

Very unsanitary and delicate

"You were sent wise men and teachers

To advise you of your own mistakes

But you ignored them and will be judged guilty

You family of poisonous snakes"

Lets not be such people 

Who act with hypocrisy

Let us not be judgmental and cruel

But treat each other civilly

Let us treat each other with respect

And maintain our dignity

Let us all hold our heads up high
Be humble and have true integrity
