Zacchaeus

Inspired by Luke 19:1-10

There was a tax collector in a town
He was rich but not renown
His name meant pure and innocent
But people thought him belligerent

A short man who couldn't see over the crowd
Climbed a sycamore tree then was called out
Because when God calls out to us
We can be reborn by Christ Jesus

HE enters our home and becomes our guest
As long as we answer His request
To repay back all those we have cheated
And from wrongdoing have we retreated

For He came to save all those who were lost
Whose immorality they want to have quashed
Who have measured and counted up the cost
And lay down their burdens at the foot of the cross
